Care and Education
The Nursery provides a safe, secure and stimulating environment which encourages children to explore and learn through opportunities that are tailored to meet the individual interests and needs of each child in our care. The overriding childcare philosophy of the Bentham Under 5s Nursery is to create a range of positive and motivating experiences that deliver a broad and balanced curriculum and recognises the importance of play in maximising learning potential and social growth. Parent’s play a fundamental role in their child’s education, and are invited into the setting to work in partnership with the staff team and their ideas and opinions are constantly valued.
At Bentham Under 5s Nursery we work towards the Government ‘Early Years Goals’ which are outlined in The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, for all children. There are seven main areas of learning and development which are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional - Literacy - Expressive Arts & Design

The Value of Pre-School Education
At Bentham Under 5s Nursery we aim to:
- Create a happy and peaceful environment in which each child can develop his/her own personality at their own pace.
- Encourage each child to develop his/her self expression and natural curiosity.
- Enable the child to develop social confidence, both with other children and with adults, to develop an awareness of the needs of others and the notion of right and wrong.
- Provide firm foundation on which to develop the formal aspects of reading, writing and numeracy.
- We encourage our children enjoy free-play, role play, and having a quite area where they can sit with their friends and take turn in this area.
